Thanks, Chris! I should clarify — the variety I was referring to was more to do with visual styles. So, don’t show only skeuomorphic work or only flat work or work where everything uses the same typeface. When you do that, you don’t give the reviewer enough information to know if you can accommodate different clients with different design needs.
Does that make more sense?
Great point about preparing different portfolios for different uses — if you really want to land a gig, that’s a great idea! That’s true also for startup pitch decks and even writing job applications for employers. If you optimize for your audience, you will always be more likely to connect with them, right?
